(*photoStages: “Sourceress Lair”

Tired of ‘the perfect location’ and finding out there are no rezzing rights? Tired of studio-backgrounds and flat images that don’t leave much room for camera angles? We’re gonna change that!

Our series of photostages will offer you quick access to whichever world you’re looking for… It doesn’t matter anymore if you have your shootings at your home sim or simply a public sandbox – Make the sky your stage. Whenever. Whereever!

As with all our creations, with much love for the detail, high quality custom textures and allowing you as much flexibility as possible, with as little prims as possible!

As the name indicates, the ‘Sourceress Lair’ is our stageing addition to (*chanimations Sourceress series and offers a perfect background blend to all the current and future sets availabe, as well as those pieces released in our ‘!dM Evil Furniture’ series. The build is themed in a medieval fantasy & magic style, softly patterned velvet fabric and precious stones decorating the walls between old stone pillars on the upper level, and a ritual room crafted of dark stone on the lower level – or you could make it a medieval gorean flavor throne-room with attached dungeon if that’s the direction you want to furnish it *laughs*. The stage would allow for both options.

The photostage itself does not include any poses or furniture, but contains three different sizes of fire bowls with softly flickering animated fire-textures. A version with lightsource or without SL light is included of each size. Please keep in mind: To see the difference, ‘basic shaders’ and ‘nearby local lights’ must be enabled in preferences AND it requires for you to be within a radius of 10m for the small and 20m for the larger firebowls!

Lair_parlourRoomThe photostage is menu-driven and allows you to pick between 4 colors (red, brown, blue or black) as well as a privacy mode with solid outside walls, or photography mode which will turn 2 of the outer walls to transparent to allow you easier navigation with the camera should you wish an agle close to the wall. ‘Options’ menu allows you to set permissions who may control the menu besides you, it allows for owner only, group, or public use. Default on rezzing is set to OWNER. All scripts run as MONO.

PRIMCOUNTS and FOOTPRINT

We try to keep our photostages as low-prim as possible – so they are stages, and not replacement for homes and sim-decorations (unless you don’t mind the fact the outside shape is simply a black block). Please keep this in mind.

Anyhow, here the stats:

LairAirealSourceress Lair Photostage is build on a basis of 24×24 squaremeters, and approx. 12m height. The entrance to the box is on the upper left corner, so you enter from top and all levels are ‘underground’. You could attach it as a ‘basement’ to a skybox or plattform, or if you have terraforming rights on the land you own, you can use the box as basement-level of a building and simply move it underground. (make sure the land is high enough to not hit water).

Alltogether, the full stage consists of 35 prims for the main build, plus additional prims depending on how many firebowls you choose to rezz. A low-prim version of the stage is included with 25 prims, for this version the lightsources, carpet leading to the plattform on the upper floor, and the colums in the room of the lower floor have been taken out.

The Sourceress’ SET 3 -Power of Word- contains photography props and poses (or maybe it’s even gonna become part of the ritual room for your RP character!) with the following properties:

DETAILED INFORMATION (please read!)
=====================================

The floor-pentagram is surrounded by sculpted books, skulls and candles. The candles are created with digitally drawn particle flames – no transparency halos or unreal-looking fire but exactly that flickering you’d expect to see! Along with the change of poses, the prims of the spell are animated and will add the extra magic to your photoshooting or roleplay experience.

Beyond that, depending on your personal taste or light surrounding, you have the following additional options when clicking the open book that lies outside of the pentagram circle:

• turn glow and lighting effects of the base on/off
• add particles to the spellcasting, or turn them back off
• show or hide the outer magic sphere surrounding your character in the final pose states
• set permissions who may access the above mentioned options to anyone, group, or owner only. – Default on rez is set to OWNER ONLY.

Please keep in mind: To see glow and light, it requires for at least ‘basic shaders’ and ‘nearby local lights’ being enabled in preferences – ‘at least’ cause Windlight is obviously more picture taking fun ;-) )

NO POSEBALLS

Sit on the magic pentagram itself. On first sit a menu pops up allowing you to pick which pose you’d like. By clicking it again when sitting you will receive the menu to change between the poses.

ADJUSTMENT OF POSES:
————————–

When you sit, speak /1a in open channel for the adjustment menu (it will only work when sitting on it). ‘Postion’ will allow you to move your avatar more forward, backwards, left or right (X and Y) and of course up and down (Z), if needed ‘Rotation’ menu gives you more options.

The script remembers the avartar custom settings of up to 100 most frequent users who adjusted their positions as long as the spell stays rezzed and the scripts are not reset. Unfortunately it cannot keep the positions when picked up back to inventory and will rez back on default settings – but since the adjustment is easy and quick, this shouldn’t be a problem!

PHOTOGRAPHER?
——————

To make it easier on photographers who work with models, a multiPoseball is included. This way you can freely move your model yourself instead of ‘instructing them’ where to place their avartar.

The multiPoseball responds to /1 show and /1 hide and allows to toggle the poses by using the pageUp/pageDown keys.

UPDATES:
———-

The spell includes an update script which will check for free upgrades when it is rezzed – to not loose the information of your adjusted poses through resetting/rezzing, you can call for the update manually by typing “/12update” (without quotes) in open chat. As well, you don’t need to check daily yourself, we keep you informed through our mainstore and our blog should a product have received an update: http://chanimations.deviousmind.net/about/updated/

The textures for this set are custom made for (*chanimations and deviousMind – if you find them used by anybody else not connected to us, please inform us! Thank you in advance!

BAD SCULPTIE RENDERING or MISSING PRIMS?
————————————————-

If you have problems with sculpties seeming rough edged and not properly rezzing – go to Advanced Menu (if it doesn’t show on the top bar, press CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-D to show it), Debug Setting… – type ‘RenderVolumeLODFactor’ (without quotes) and set it to 4.000. It will take a short moment and your sculpties will render smoother when looking at them from a distance! Search the Wiki if you want more info about the RenderVolumeLODFactor.

If you notice prims missing when moveing your camera closer to an object, check your Debug Settings for the rendermaxNodeSize – standard of the newer clients is 4096, which can be far too little with very detailed objects and lead to prims disappearing. A value of 6000 can safely be used even with an older computer and will solve this problem.

Last but not least as with everything scripted: Make sure you are in a sim that allows for scripts to run! That’s all you need to know – have fun and emerse in the roleplay!

All POSES are static and come with ‘copy’ rights so you can put them into your posestands or make own poseball arrangements, the second version of the magicKneeling is included so you can pick and choose if rather soft evocation or a more dramatic expression.

The pack includes the poses as single animations and in a multiPoseball which responds to /1 show and /1 hide and allows to toggle the poses by using the pageUp/pageDown keys.

PROPS (detailed info to each after listing):

• (* FireSkull (full) – left hand (no mod/no copy)
• (* FireSpell – right hand (no mod/no copy)

The Poseball comes in an unlinked group with the Sourceress FireRitual pentagram – so it shows as one combined object in your inventory. This is to make it easier for you when adjusting or rotating position of yourself or the model. Just make sure you have both components selected in edit mode when you intent to move it together!

The floor-pentagram is surrounded by sculpted skulls and candles and, if your light surrounding requires it, allows to turn on/off glow and lighting effects simply by clicking it. The candles are created with digitally drawn particle flames – no transparency halos or unreal-looking fire but exactly what you’d expect to see!

The hand-attachments come with ‘transfer’ setting so you can pass them to the model – or if you’re unsure they’ll give it back, rezz it instead and position it.

Depending on your personal taste or light surrounding, you can touch the skull to give some extra ‘fire’. Touching it again will turn light and glow off. As well it reacts on /1 show skull and /1 hide skull to offer you more variety in the picture. Touch is as well active on the FireSpell for the other hand – only there’s nothing to hide but some neat effects to explore! (It does require for at least ‘basic shaders’ and ‘nearby local lights’ being enabled in preferences – ‘at least’ cause Windlight is obviously more picture taking fun ;-) )

Last but not least as with everything scripted: Make sure you are in a sim that allows for scripts to run!

• (* Sourceress particles for both hands (no mod/no copy)

The Poseball reacts on /1 show and /1 hide, and contains both poses – you toggle between them with pageUp/pageDown. It comes in an unlinked group with the Sourceress Spell – so it shows as one combined object in your inventory. This is to make it easier for you when adjusting or rotating position of yourself or the model. Just make sure you have both components selected in edit mode when you intent to move it together!

The Spell offers you a few options – you can use it plain as floor-pentagram surrounded by skulls and candles (as the small picture on the poster shows), or you can add some extra-magic via chat command:

/1 show sphere
/1 hide sphere
(that’s the upper picture on the poster!)

and

/1 show beams
/1 hide beams

If your light surrounding requires it, you can turn glow/fullbright/light of the floor-pentagram on and off by clicking it.

And as with everything scripted: Make sure you are in a sim that allows for scripts to run!
