I will make this a bit different then usually… meaning, there is a gift for you waiting, with several different ways on how you can get it… But what exactly it is and how you will get it is gonna be up to your investigation :-D

Oh, and also just so you know.. there’s different versions of said gift too, depending on how much effort you plan to put into finding it.

Just letting you know – our prefabs and some of the photostages moved into an own building as well! Some of those are things we released a while back but had them hidden well away it seems :-D

“The Loft”

The Loft was created as a prefab skybox or ground home (requires terraforming if you use it on the ground – or creativity with your building structure).

It has a very natural and still elegant-modern feel to it, comes with privacy blinds for its windows and a glass roof to let the sun in or watch the moon wander. To complete its modern elegant look and interesting interiour architecture, The Loft has reflective floors and was made with custom textures made specifically for this build. (not the furniture).

The Loft has a 27×20 footprint and is 267 prims in the furnished version and 121 for the unfurnished versions.

“Retro Space”

As the name implys, Retro Space is an ecclectic mix of retro styles from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s all brought together in the unique way only deviousMind can! While this special skybox is desgined to take you back in time, we most certainly didn’t travel there while making it! Retro Space’s interior is designed with sculpted prims and beautifully shadowed textures to give your Retro Home a fresh fun look that’s modern in SL design. All furniture is included, as well as little added goodies like lava lamps, discoballs, and of course that old vintage bright pink fridge you always wanted. *winks*

Retro Space has a 20×20 footprint and is 197 prims furnished!

“Peep Show”

The Peep Show is a small box designed for club owners and photographers, it is perfect for use as a private dance room or a private little naughty photo session. The Peep Show includes a STATIC (Not animated) dance pole with 6 diffrent poses for the dancer, as well as one chair with 3 male and 3 female sits for the patron.

The Peep Show is only 29 prims and sits on a 8×8 foot print.

“Interogation Bunker”

The interrogation bunker was designed for the adult oriented story tellers of second life, a prefab with high quality textures, poses, and a few scripted objects to allow you to fully immerse yourself into a role playing/photography experince or a nice build to compliment any other sim build or private residence. The bunker contains two cells with sliding doors, a working shower, table and chair, ash tray, water basin, and overhead lighting. It is available with and without (adult) poses.

As usually, sit on the rezzed giftbox, and pose-menu appears when clicking the box again. The poses can be adjusted to your avatar size by chatting /1a in local chat while you are sitting on the prop.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

The LavaLamp requires SL preferences to have BASIC SHADERS (in SL preferences, Graphics Tab) enabled. If Basic Shaders are turned off, the lamp appears dark and the typical glow and radiance they have is missing. As well you have to have ‘Animate Textures’ turned on – This should be on by default, but if it’s off you need to do the following:

• Open ‘ADVANCED’ menu by pressing [ctrl]+[alt]+[shift]+D
• Then go into ‘RENDERING’ and make sure you see an X marking ‘Animate Textures’

When clicking the top metal cover of the lava lamp, you can toggle light on/off – to see any effect, ‘Local and Nearby Lights’ rendering has to be enabled in SL preferences (Graphics Tab). The light emits in an radius of 10m.

The Lava Lamps have been released in several different colors and styles this week at deviousMind little Retro- & Psychedlic store – which I spontaneously named “Time Warp” as it seemed most fitting to our otherwise ‘less modern’ sim setup. Stop by there some day, it’s next to deviousPizza photospot, and will have an own TP sign soon as well. The floorpillows and mandala’s from the park-area will move there as well some of these days to de-clutter everything a bit!

BAD SCULPTIE RENDERING?

If you have problems with sculpties seeming rough edged and not properly rezzing – go to Advanced Menu (if it doesn’t show on the top bar, press CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-D to show it), Debug Setting… – type ‘RenderVolumeLODFactor’ (without quotes) and set it to 4.000. It will take a short moment and your sculpties will render smoother when looking at them from a distance! Search the Wiki if you want more info about the RenderVolumeLODFactor.

!dM deviousEyes “AngelDust” comes in two different versions, one with a regular ‘daytime’ sized pupil, and a second ‘delirium’ version with dilated pupils as you would encounter during night-time, or if artificially induced with eyedrops, or as reaction to physical sensations.

The size of eyes in SL is dependend on different aspects of your shape – and for that reason, we’ve included 3 different sizes of each version in this eye set, to allow you to find the one that is perfect for you! You find the eye sets at deviousBeauty building, lefthand of the park.

A BRIEF GLANCE INTO HISTORY:

Drops prepared from the belladonna plant (Italian: ‘beautiful Lady’) were used to dilate women’s pupils throughout history, an effect considered attractive. Eventually, it was found out this plant is highly poisonous, and would as well cause harm to the eye muscles. These days, non-poisonous eyedrops are sometimes still used in fashion-photography to achieve this ‘beautiful lady’ effect with their models. (*and at this point, the mandatory subtitle blinks up on the screen* “Now please don’t try this at home kids, looking into flash-light like that is harmful too” *winks*)

Why?

Eyes and certain characteristics of eyes are important part of body language.. they indicate if somebody is for example tired, scared, in shock, excited or aroused. So they give subtle unconscious hints to the one looking into them – maybe this is why they are called ‘windows of the soul’ by some people. While science takes this all into pieces (and I am sure you can investigate more on it), it is said that subconsciously we find larger pupils attractive. It might be connected to the ‘puppy eye’ effect or simply our inner self knowing that it might indicate arousal :-D

…well at least I am sure it must be the first, as I haven’t seen another one yet :-D Elise’s little sister, we named her “Lucky”, is replacing our Lucky Presents which we had during christmas season.

So the good news is:

There are as well new presents! – Not so sure you’ll be able to trade them with Lucky for peanuts, but I think with patience she will share something from time to time.

With Carneval and Mardi Gras upcoming, we’ll skip Valentine’s Day, there’s enough freebies out for it already anyhow – and rather offer you a full outfit that can be pieced together in the time leading up to carneval season. So far added to the Lucky Chair Vault are still our yellow and purple feather Fans, and new items are **MARDI GRAS** TopHat and Cane in the colors *GOLD* and *PURPLE*, as well as our diamondLingerie in *ABSINTHE* green. There are a few things more in progress, that will be added over the next few weeks.

Other than that, if you really want to win something you don’t need to stay at one chair — ummm — elephant. Head on the the next section of the store, for a few more surprising ways to win a little something. Let’s just say – I had A LOT of fun setting up the chairs for you, you will see :-D

The room was silent… aside of the soft cackeling from the fireplace, there was hardly any sound heard. All the usual busy noices of the summer swallowed by the cotton-like snow which was covering all the things outside like a blanket during their deep sleep.

Suddenly, a rumbling cuts through the silence, it nearly seems the flames danced a bit faster in their excitement. Then a last lound, hollow **CLONK** and with the huge cloud of soot spitting out the chimney into the room, a well wrapped little something rolls right out of the fireplace towards the tree. Black and dirty, but the sound woke everybody up and they hurried down in the livingroom. Looking at the mess, they looked at each other then back to the thing. It was heavy! And I mean: BY FAR too heavy. So we hurried to unwrap it, and to our displeasure, all that it had contained were a few huge stones. “Great.. let’s skip stones on the frozen lake…” a sarcastic voice could be heard in the room, coming from one of the girls in the back.

When the wrapping paper was tossed towards the trashcan in disappointment, a little note fell off one of the stones:

The feathers are digitally illustrated – so no fuzzy halos or edges and only 100% feather goodness mixed with shiney sequins and stones, for a burlesque performance that will stay in mind! Size of all pieces can be adjusted by click through a simple resize script, and you are able to store the new size if you’d like – please read included notecard about the resize script functions for further details.

More Info’s about “Down The Chimney Hunt”?

Starting December 6th 2009, this hunt is something completely different from what you’d expect of a christmas hunt – like Nuala Shippe, organizer of the hunt, put it so nicely to the point:

The hunt focused on what comes down the chimney, and is not so much turning you into the christmas tree yourself.

*giggles*

As already in Skipping Stones Hunt of late August, the winter hunt features again some of the best vintage, retro, bohemian, artsy type stores, and runs from December 6-20 2009 with approximately 100 stores (need to verify the number of those, not quite sure at moment)  – so just the right timeframe to log in and take a few stops here and there, and rest asured, you can wait with the unpacking of your hunt-gifts till well after christmas, they very likely will not turn out of season :-)

We’re excited to be part again of this great group of designers!

Anybody who knows me knows that I tend to spend eternities (if not on the building plattform) standing in front of lucky chairs writing notecards or chatting or doing whatever… *blushes* ummm.. you didn’t know? *coughs coughs* Damnit I gave it away ;-)
