‘1001 Nights’ photostage was created in hommage to all the amazing architecture of Arabian influenced countries and to complement our asianMasala pose line on a 32x32m footprint. As you would expect, with all the flair you would find in Arabia, Marocco, Tunesia or India’s Rajasthan state. All floors and walls consist of an intricate floral tiles pattern, shiney wood pannels decorates the plattforms and planters and golden hanging lamps can be found at walls and hanging down the center of the building’s glass dome. All windows are given their special charm with diamond gate screens and snake plants line the walls while rich colored satin curtains set the mood for 1001 dreams…

We have included 6 color presets for you to pick from, but beyond those, you can customize different parts of the stage in a rather complex color menu. It allows you to change curtain colors, walls, floor and dome/accent colors all individually to pick your favorite combination :)

To match the theme of desert and sun, the color choices for walls, floor and
accent colors are as follows:

• black,
• white,
• sand,
• brown,
• orange,
• redish-brown,
• vibrant turquoise blue,
• light blue

Curtains can be set to a warm brown, sunny yellow, silky white, sky blue, rich dark blue, vibrant pink, deep red and a charming olive green.

Of course you can open/close the entrance gate, and also turn lights off and on or set ambient light.

As with everything scripted: Make sure you are in a sim that allows for scripts to run!

The photostage comes (copy/no mod/no transfer) and is color customizable through menu (please see more further down). The menu allows to set permissions who may control it – default on rez is set to “owner”.


We try to keep our photostages as low-prim as possible – so they are stages, and not replacement for homes and sim-decorations (unless you don’t mind the fact the outside shape is not quite what you expect from a palace of 1001 nights, or you are willing to put the extra work in and build an “outside” around it). Please keep this in mind.

Anyhow, here the stats:

“1001 Nights” Photostage is build on a basis of 32x32m, and has with it’s with the dome approx. 15m height – it is provided in 3 versions, Low-Prim (56 PRIMS), normal (110 PRIMS), and as highly detailed (146 PRIMS) if you got some extra prims to spare. :)

The included fountain has 4 prims, so you can rezz as many or none as you like within the stage.


The menu can be controlled through the lower doorframe when entering or leaving the skybox.
Make sure to set permissions, rezzing default of user permission is set to OWNER only, if you like others to be able to use the menu, you can change the setting to ‘Group’ or ‘Public’.

You need have “local lights” in SL Preferences enabled in order to see any changes of ambient and ceiling light.


The door contains stored prim animation frames – as a result of this please take note that you cannot [shift]-copy the building, as this process will delete the frames and you will not be able to use it’s functions properly anymore – if you need multiple copies of the stage, ALWAYS rezz from inventory to ensure it works! Same applies for resetting scripts. If required, rezz a fresh copy from inventory and delete the old one.


Some textures for this stage were custom made (wood pannels, gold, fountain) and some custom adjusted (all color options of tiles textures) by Chandra Meehan for (*chanimations and deviousMind – if you find any of these used by anybody not connected to us, please inform us! Thank you in advance!

The original design of the orange floor texture was made by Artemis Bagley – thank you for these gorgeous patterns!


The photostage includes an update script which will check for free upgrades when it is rezzed. Alternatively, you can call for the update manually by typing “/12update” (without quotes) in open chat when the box is rezzed already – make sure you are at the entrance of the box to be in chatrange for the script. As well, you don’t need to check daily for updates yourself, we keep you informed through our mainstore and our blog should a product have received an update: http://chanimations.deviousmind.net/about/updated/
