BurlesqueCouture: !dM “Josephine”

“Un vent de folie!”

“Miss Josephine”
Burlesque Couture
by !dM deviousMind

While Baloo of the Jungle Book would be an appropriate guess as well, this little fruity number was created as hommage for one of the most amazing women of the early movie and theater days: Miss Josephine Baker (1906-1975) has become famous for many things, but the most memorable performance was likely her infamous “Banana Dance” as performed in the late 1920s at the Folies Bergères in Paris.

This illustrated costume allows you to revive those old cabaret days with a variety of items and clothing layers when styling your avatar. The set contains a sheer bra and panties, banana slice pasties and three different long pearl necklaces (both as prim attachments or optional as texture layer). And last but not least, Josephine’s infamous banana skirt in different versions: with many or less many bananas, with pearls, or with pearls and long flexi pearl strings. (please see full list of content in the following).

The costume includes as well an UPDATE CHECK to keep you up to date with every piece of this outfit – please read all information at the end of the content listing.

PS: We have also released matching photo poses of Josephines’s banana dance to this couture set – you see some of them on this vendor picture. Have a look at (*chanimations bonVoyage set #02 “Welcome to the Jungle!” to see all :)

(*FetishCabaret SET 29 “HappyHour”

“Every moment is a good time.”

FetishCabaret SET 29
August 2011

Needless to say, a classy wine and cocktail bar was missing so far in our FetishCabaret series – so here it comes! Only our classy bar is “classy burlesque” of course to capture the mood appropriately: Elegant wood surfaces, golden metal poles, sculpted wine bottles on a shelf with mirror wall – and let’s not forget the lovingly decorated lemontray. After serving your drink, those bar ladies like to hop on the counter themselves to be your cocktail, or give a classic poledance for the night’s entertainment. And cause one would be only half the fun, there’s room for two. Happy hour guaranteed!

PLEASE TAKE NOTE so there is no confusion: it’s a photography prop with static poses and no animated dances.

-HappyHour- comes with color menu to choose between dark and lighter wood (matching our “FetishCabaret” and “La Burlesque” photostages), and a special menu to assist in taking pictures for post-processing mirror effects. (please see further down)

(*chanimations -HappyHour- contains photography props and poses with the following properties:

21 (17) POSES
(no mod/no transfer):

13 POSES in bar:
• (*bar_poleStand,
• (*bar_pole,

• (*barSit_f (swapMove),
• (*barSit_m,
• (*barSit_m (moveHead),
• (*barSit_m (swap),
• (*barSit_m (swapMove)

All POSES are static and come with ‘copy’ rights so you can put them into your posestands or make own poseball arrangements with the set. To match the nature of the series, all poses are designed to look best with high heels – except the male sit of course :-D

The chair sits include a version with free head, so you can influence where the guests are looking in your pictures. Please take note, head movement might not work if you are wearing an AO or any other pose-scripted attachment that could override the free head.

PROPS (detailed info to each after listing):

(copy/no mod/no trans)

• (*chanimations – CabaretBar (LP) – 36 PRIMS
• (*chanimations – CabaretBar – 58 PRIMS
• (*chanimations – CabaretBar (highDetail) – 74 PRIMS
• (*chanimations – BarChair – 3 PRIMS

Rezz Optional:
(copy/no mod/no trans)

• (*chanimations – HappyHour multiPosestand – 4 PRIMS
• (*chanimations – HappyHour multiPoseball – 1 PRIM

(trans/no copy/no mod)
• (*chanimations – cocktail LIME (right hand)
• (*chanimations – cocktail ORANGE (left hand)
• (*chanimations – cocktail RED w/ice (right hand)
• (*chanimations – cocktail BLUE w/ice (right hand)
• (*chanimations – cocktail RED (left hand)

We have included 3 different versions of the bar to match all prim needs – shown on the ad image is CabaretBar with high details. The version is marked in the object name with “highDetail” (74 prims), “LP” (low prim, 36 prims) and without any addition is the normal one (58 prims).

There are three areas you need to know about to access the menus easily.

POSE menu #1 is placed in the root prim – the persion sitting first will likely have this spot (unless they sit directly on the prim for menu #2). Any click on the bar will open the pose selection menu for the girl sitting occupying this spot.

POSE menu #2 is in the back counter (the one that has the lemons and champaign on it). Even if you are the first person using the prop, you can sit directly on spot #2 if you target the back counter prim to sit.

The COLOR menu, as well as menu to turn light on/off (only if ‘nearby local lights’ are enabled in preferences), use the postprocessing effects and to set permissions is placed in the mirror wall of the bar.

Color choices are the following, matching the wood used in our (*chanimations photostages:

• light wood,
• dark wood,
• dark wood ornamented.

All attachments come with ‘transfer’ setting so you can pass them to your model – or if you’re unsure they’ll give them back to you, rezz them instead and position them.

The cocktail glasses match a few poses, so we’ve added a few extras – have fun getting creative :)

The ‘special trick’ for this set – Equally to FetishCabaret SET 14 “CabaretBeauty”, I added you a little gimmick to help you prepare your shots if you plan to create a mirror reflection using graphic programms for picture post-processing. To make the steps required to create a reflection easier on you, the mirror glass has a touch script included that will set the BACK of it to transparent or solid on click. The surface lets you pick a grey background, greenScreen or blueScreen.

If you’re curious, we posted a mini-tutorial on our blog at
(as with all pictures, image rights reserved!)

If you rezz the bar in public places, it’s strongly adviced to set permissions who may use the mirror-menu (owner, group, everybody) so you don’t find the bar in all these bright colors from random people’s clicking every time you log in :D

TAKE NOTE: The ability to use the poses and sit options in the bar are NOT affected by this setting, it is only for the mirror menu.

Burlesque Couture: !dM “MissDhalia”

“Wanna play?”

“Miss Dhalia”
Burlesque Couture
by !dM deviousMind

“Miss Dhalia” is our newest addition to the burlesque cabaret of deviousBeauty, and could easily be seen as the little showgirl sister of “LaMadame”. The costume was designed in a way, that allows to exchange pieces with those of the other outfit and give you some interesting options to mix&match when styling for the night :) But of course, that is only a nice side-flavor!

This little burleque number is fully illustrated and comes with a variety of layer options and possibilities to style your avatar, ranging from playfully sweet and seductive all the way to the Vamp of the night :D

Aside from black costume pieces like latex gloves with color accent, striped stockings and satin panties, you will find a subtlely striped sheer bodice with low cut back, a richly colored corset with matching flexi bustle, black latex pants with a color accent and a burlesque style tophat in two versions. (please see full list of content and properties in the following)

Shoes are NOT included in this costume!

Those attachments that may require resizing can be adjusted by touch through a resize menu. It’s intuitive, but if you’re curious for details please see the included notecard.

The costume includes as well an UPDATE CHECK to keep you up to date with every piece of this outfit – please read all information at the end of the content listing.

“MissDhalia” comes in the same colors as our previous release “LaMadame”, and is available in 7 rich latex colors **RED**, **PINK**, **PURPLE**, **BLACK**, **BLUE**, **GOLD**, **PEARL** – and of course you can get all 7 colors in one as **COLORPACK**.

(*FetishCabaret SET 28 “BurlesqueSwing”

“Something’s in the air…”

FetishCabaret SET 28
August 2011

No cabaret would be complete without at least one hottie on a swing. So we made you a burlesque fancy one, filled it up with a bunch of sexy pinUp poses and gave it playful elegance with its matching style to our CarouselHorse and ZebraRide sets by adding those familiar twisted poles (or let’s say, it’s ribbons in this case) and wooden roses. And of course many, many color options :D All in all just the last piece that was missing for your perfect little pin up world of sexiness.

(*chanimations -BurlequeSwing- contains photography props and poses with the following properties:

(*photoStages: “1001 Nights”

“Welcome to a world full of scents and colors…”

-1001 Nights-
PhotoStageAugust 2011

‘1001 Nights’ photostage was created in hommage to all the amazing architecture of Arabian influenced countries and to complement our asianMasala pose line on a 32x32m footprint. As you would expect, with all the flair you would find in Arabia, Marocco, Tunesia or India’s Rajasthan state. All floors and walls consist of an intricate floral tiles pattern, shiney wood pannels decorates the plattforms and planters and golden hanging lamps can be found at walls and hanging down the center of the building’s glass dome. All windows are given their special charm with diamond gate screens and snake plants line the walls while rich colored satin curtains set the mood for 1001 dreams…

We have included 6 color presets for you to pick from, but beyond those, you can customize different parts of the stage in a rather complex color menu. It allows you to change curtain colors, walls, floor and dome/accent colors all individually to pick your favorite combination :)

To match the theme of desert and sun, the color choices for walls, floor and
accent colors are as follows:

• black,
• white,
• sand,
• brown,
• orange,
• redish-brown,
• vibrant turquoise blue,
• light blue

Curtains can be set to a warm brown, sunny yellow, silky white, sky blue, rich dark blue, vibrant pink, deep red and a charming olive green.

Of course you can open/close the entrance gate, and also turn lights off and on or set ambient light.

As with everything scripted: Make sure you are in a sim that allows for scripts to run!

• (*chanimations Photostage: “1001 Nights” (LP) – 56 PRIMS
• (*chanimations Photostage: “1001 Nights” – 110 PRIMS
• (*chanimations Photostage: “1001 Nights” (highDetail) – 146 PRIMS

• (*chanimations Photostage: “1001 Nights” fountain – 4 PRIMS

The photostage comes (copy/no mod/no transfer) and is color customizable through menu (please see more further down). The menu allows to set permissions who may control it – default on rez is set to “owner”.

We try to keep our photostages as low-prim as possible – so they are stages, and not replacement for homes and sim-decorations (unless you don’t mind the fact the outside shape is not quite what you expect from a palace of 1001 nights, or you are willing to put the extra work in and build an “outside” around it). Please keep this in mind.

Anyhow, here the stats:

“1001 Nights” Photostage is build on a basis of 32x32m, and has with it’s with the dome approx. 15m height – it is provided in 3 versions, Low-Prim (56 PRIMS), normal (110 PRIMS), and as highly detailed (146 PRIMS) if you got some extra prims to spare. :)

The included fountain has 4 prims, so you can rezz as many or none as you like within the stage.

deviousHunt: Updated Information!

Big Congrats!

We’d like to say a huge contrats to Majik for finding the 5000L giftcard joker gift! Apparently she’s had the right intuition while clicking around prims in the sim, or simply massive luck :-D

Now the good news:

Since it didn’t take all too long that the first joker was discovered (yes, I did indeed say ‘first’ :D) we have decided to throw out another few of them in the upcoming weeks of our hunt! There will be multiple more giftcards slipped into the sim from time to time – join our Update Group if you’d like to be informed when they are released to the sim (and of course to get the info when they are found).   Good luck to all in finding one of them!

Help our chief investigator!

If you haven’t been at deviousMind sim yet to go and hunt your gifts, see the next post for all goodies that can be found and stop by to grab them while you can :-D You’re hunting for gifts by Cupcakes&Poetry, (*chanimations photography props and poses, Captain’s Quarters and !dM deviousBeauty in a delicious looking hunt-box: look for the apple with whipcream and compass as seen in the picture to the right!

Have fun and enjoy!

deviousHunt: Memories of long gone things…

Report from deviousMind: As the events unfold

Chief Inspector D. Vious had been busy these days (apparently that helped his pale complexion as well a little) and while he couldn’t retrieve the lost items in question, by now he had a very good idea of the things missing. It was even possible to find pictures, not all of them offered very voluntarily but a bit of bribe would do wonders, even for somebody of his rank and honor.

Easiest to come across was a full picture of the stolen costume in question, which belonged to the missing things of deviousBeauty. The chief didn’t even need to bribe anybody for that one, as it had been all over the newspaper in the last months accompanied with “Stunning Show at the FetishCabaret!” and “Breath-taking Glamor and irresistible Tease” and similar headlines to celebrate the big show of the season. A short call to the printing press, and the full colored image was his. And now has its neat little spot in his investigation journal, marked with “stolen item #01” neatly written next to it.

(click the image for a larger view!)

The Cupcake-Conspiracy

Not quite as easy was the discovery of the missing hats from Cupcakes & Poetry – in fact, only one of them seemed to have been documented on a picture. After talking to nearly every customer of the bakery he could get a hold of (it would appear, that most of them appreciated their cupcakes fresh out of the oven, so they were out at un-godly hours to get them!), he eventually ran into one helpful young jounalist who took a snapshot of Ms. Chandra wearing the item in question for a bakery event 3 months ago. Images of the other two hats were not documented but it would appear that they were similar in appearance (at least if the statements of Mrs Capalini-Cale were correct), one made of black leather and the other one sewn with white satin.

The photograph was glued into the investigation journal with a #02 written next to it – he was a thorough policement, one could tell.

From deep down in the Captain’s Quarters

Eventually, our good old Chief Inspector made up with Ms. Parisi as well for his unfortunate first meeting (see his report some pages earlier). It took him a few purchases and quite a few snippy remarks from her when he showed up, but in the end she would be noticably more friendly. The fact that he didn’t destroy anything during his visits at Captain’s Quarters and the very expensive old world globe he purchased (on the police offices’ expenses of course) might have helped his case.

Finally, he held a copy of a photograph in hand. It showed a belly dancer (was that again Ms Chandra?) in the middle of a fine display of antiques. “An event we have had to introduce our new collection to the residents.” Ms. Parisi commented on the picture when passing it to him. The Chief noded, and glanced over the picture pointing at the items in order as he spoke: “So these lanterns at the ceiling are the items stolen, correct? As well these baskets upfront and I see a pillow lying on the raised plattform, that is one of yours as well?” – “Yes, correct.” Ms. Parisi nodded. “The pillow is especially nice – it let’s you lounge on it for hours and hours, and is comfortable in all sorts of poses.”

The chief nodded, and slid the photo into his investigation journal – later it would be pinned in there as “deviousMind case, #03: Items missing from Captain’s Quarters.”

Devious suspects are every where.”

Last but not least, there was that final part… looking at the suspects. Of course, any and all residents living and wandering through deviousMind sim were suspicious, but only 4 of them were available to capture on photograph. Needless to say, this happened under loud protests and with a lot of mockery of the fine Chief. A friendly spirit at (*chanimations (who shall remain anonymous here for the risk of getting fired or whatever these deviants would do!) was kind enough to assist the chief with the set-up of all suspects.

He made little notes in his book along with the finely printed images:

Ms. Parisi:

From the looks of things, very talented Lady with a sense for decor and housing. Somewhat twisted lady who seems to have a flair of pirate-baroness in her some days, then is seen again wearing normal clothes or near to nothing-clothes. So maybe she’s actually less crazy than what meets the eye – or involved into the theater production or filming industry, who knows. Or it’s simply part of dealing with antiques and furniture? New Resident on the sim since July. Suspicious, especially since a wide variety of costumes seem to be at her hand. But certainly not pulling the strings of the crime quite yet.

Mr. Staheli:

Slick as an eal, certainly Gentleman on first impression and Playboy on second, and both at the same time most of the time. Not many scandals are known but it would seem that he has influence and controls a lot of the on-goings of the place. Certainly one of the top suspects as he seems to know his way around; nothing can be proven though, he might as well being set up by a competitor. Beyond all suspicion of his own actions, none of the other suspects dared to point fingers at him. Was it true respect of this Gentleman, or was blackmail involved – one would not know.

Ms. Chandra:

Throughout his investigation, Chief D. Vious found one thing: this woman was a chameleon! Very suspicious indeed. As well one of those hard to catch, as it would seem just as you picked up her trace in one of the buildings of the sim she was gone already again and showed up at a different spot. With charm combined, this might be a successful receipe to be the one behind all these deeds – he heard Mrs. Elise had said something similar, although it was whispered behind hands and just been reported by an informant. Nothing confirmed, and no traces left at either scene of crime in the sim.

Mrs. Elise:

The lady of the bakery was top suspect for the vanishing of her own items, as it had been an issue with her and the cream a few times reportedly. Although what makes the deeds unclear is the fact, that most of the missing items in question were no longer in her possession when they vanished. A mystery indeed.
