We have included 3 different versions of the vanity to match all prim needs – please see prim counts above in the content listing.

The chair and vanity come in an unlinked group and show as one combined object in your inventory.
This allows you to move the chair around freely or use either of both props alone. Before rezzing, turn build on so both parts are automatically selected so you can move them together.

If you deselected the two items and want to move/rotate them again, here’s how you do it: Press [Shift] key and keep it pressed, then right-click choose ‘edit’ on the vanity, and (with still pressed shift) right-click choose ‘edit’ on the chair. When both are highlighted with the blue/yellow lines, you can let go of [shift] and everything moves as a group now. – in worst case, re-rezz from inventory to go back to the original alignment.

When clicking the vanity’s mirror, you access a dialog menu to turn light on/off, change colors between light wood, dark wood and dark ornamented wood, and as well to go to the Photography-Extras – see more in the following section!

All attachments come with ‘transfer’ setting so you can pass them to your model – or if you’re unsure they’ll give them back to you, rezz them instead and position them.

The brush and mirror go with the ‘gettingReady’ pose – if you click on the BeautyMirror, it will function as a soft facelight. (only if ‘nearby local lights’ are enabled in preferences!)

The (*BeautyLipstick can be used as random accessory or together with the ‘kneelingOver’ pose in the chair… and it has one specialty: on touch, you get a color menu to pick which color you’d like it to be – that way you have a color somewhat similar to your skin’s lipstick color.

The BeautyMask is our little ‘extra surprise’ for you, pretty sure you’ll bring it to good use. *smirks*

The ‘special trick’ for this set – I added you a little gimmick that allows you to fairly easily create a mirror reflection when using graphic programms for picture post-processing. To make the steps required for creating a reflection easy on you, the mirror glass has a touch script included that will set the BACK of it to transparent or half-transparent (with reflection stripes) on click. As well one click position will set the FRONT to a greenScreen, blueScreen or grayScreen. I posted an image-example as well as a mini-tutorial how to recreate the effects yourself on our blog and my flickr stream!

(please copy into your browser – or hit the ‘Tutorial?’ button on the dresser and it will speak the link to you in open chat so you can click through SL)

(as with all pictures, image rights reserved!)

You can set permissions who may use the mirror-menu (owner, group, everybody) – this allows you to keep the mirror rezzed in public places as well without the ‘look’ being disturbed by bright green screens due to random peoples’ clicking. And we all have better things to do than constantly check or worry, right? *winks* TAKE NOTE: The ability to use the poses and sit options in the Vanity are NOT effected by this setting, it is only for the mirror menu.

No more poseballs – sit on the chair or vanity themselves. On first sit a menu pops up allowing you to pick which pose you’d like. After that, you only click the chair/vanity (whichever you are sitting on) again, and you’ll receive the menu to change between the poses.

The prop provides you with a pose adjustment menu to finetune your position – either use included gesture with hot-key [F10] (the gesture is mod, so you can change the key) or speak /1a in open channel for the adjustment menu to open (both will only work if sitting on the prop).

‘Postion’ will allow you to move your avartar more forward, backwards, left or right (X and Y axis) and of course up and down (Z axis), if needed ‘Rotation’ menu gives you more options for your adjustment.

The script remembers the avartar custom settings of its 100 most frequent users who adjusted their positions as long as the set stays rezzed.

You’ve never worked with gestures? It’s easy, go into inventory and right click it, then select ‘activate’ in the context menu. Once activated, just press F10 key and the adjustment menu will open up if you sit on any of our (*chanimations props using this feature! Typing /adjustPose in chat will have the same effect, SL chat bar will auto-complete the command after the first few characters typed if it recognizes it being an active gesture. The gesture is mod, so you can change hot-key or command to whatever is easier for you, just double-click on the gesture in inventoy to open it.

To make it easier on photographers who work with models (or if you don’t want to adjust poses through a menu), a multiPoseball (1 PRIM) is included, as well as a multiPosestand (4 PRIMS). This way you can send your models afk and freely move them yourself instead of ‘instructing them’ where to place their avartar.

While the posestand navigates you through the poses with arrow buttons, the multiPoseball needs to be triggerd by the one sitting on it and toggles the poses by using the pageUp/pageDown keys. Both multiPoseball and multiPosestand respond to /1 show and /1 hide to turn them invisible.

And as with everything scripted: Make sure you are in a sim that allows for scripts to run!

The vanity includes an update script, which will check for free upgrades when it is rezzed – to not loose the information of your adjusted poses through rezzing, you can call for the update manually by typing “/12update” (without quotes) in open chat – or just rez another one from inventory :-)

If nothing happens at all on rez or the manual call, it might be there is no update set up yet – it will function once a first update is available. We keep you informed through our mainstore and our blog should a product have received an update:

All textures for this set are custom made by Chandra Meehan for (*chanimations and deviousMind – if you find them used by anybody else not connected to us, please help protect original content and immediately inform us! Thank you in advance!

If you have problems with sculpties seeming rough edged and not properly rezzing – go to Advanced Menu (if it doesn’t show on the top bar, press CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-D to show it), Debug Setting… – type ‘RenderVolumeLODFactor’ (without quotes) and set it to 4.000. It will take a short moment and your sculpties will render smoother when looking at them from a distance! Search the Wiki if you want more info about the RenderVolumeLODFactor.

That’s all you need to know, so from here on…. have fun in front of the scenes, behind
the scenes, after the scenes…. and any time.
